Bill's Real Estate Blog - News to Use!

January 19th, 2011 9:48 AM

According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, older Internet users are flocking to social media networks.  Usage among those 50 and older nearly doubled during the past year from 22 percent to 42 percent.  About 47 percent of the 50-to-64 age group and 26 percent of users older than 65 indicate they now use social networking sites.  Facebook and LinkedIn are the most popular and attract the most visitors.

Most of us have heard Betty White exclaim on Saturday Night Live about keeping up-to-date on social networking sites is "an incredible waste of time," but businesses are increasingly using it.  As a matter of fact, corporate use of blogging increased from 16% in 2007 to 34% in 2010.  Technology is certainly changing the way we interact, professionally and socially.

Be sure to look me up on Facebook or LinkedIn.  I always like to hear from my friends!
